(5) I called to the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and put me in a spacious place. (6) The Lord is for me; I will not be afraid. What can a mere mortal do to me? (7) The Lord is my helper, therefore, I will look in triumph on those who hate me.
(Psalm 118:5-7, CSB)
To those children of God who called on the name of Jesus yesterday in the horror of the #sutherlandspringsshooting God gave heaven (v.5), God gave courage (v.6), and God gave victory (v.7). No temporal act of senseless evil can undo the eternal victory of redeeming grace.
Heartbroken, but not hopeless. Though we grieve, we grieve with a sure hope – “not looking to what is seen but to what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal,” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Grace and Peace,
